Dart Sailability aims to provide Sailing and other boating activities for disabled people. We need a lot of volunteers in order to function and tasks include:- registering sailors, putting on life jackets, helping sailors get into boats, driving safety boats, teaching sailing, repairing boats and fund raising.
We are a friendly club and welcome new volunteers; you do not need any experience, as training will be provided.
Useful information
Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 14th May to 25th September to help with regular sailing.
If possible please arrive by 9.30 am to help with preparation. We normally finish at lunch time.
We also need help with racing on Wednesday evenings in the RDYC evening series. During the winter we are grateful to any volunteers who can help maintain the boats.
We operate a come when you can system so that you are not tied to a rota.
We supply buoyancy aids, but ask you to bring a water-proof and a change of clothes just in case.
We provide training in disability awareness, first aid, power boat driving and sailing.
We have CRB checks carried out on volunteers
If you would like to help us by volunteering please contact the Principal. A volunteer registration form can be down loaded below
