Volunteers

Information for volunteers

Dart Sailability always provides a warm welcome to enthusiastic volunteers who want to support disabled sailors, of all ages and abilities. No sailing or power boat experience is required just the ability to assist the group and have fun!

We are a RYA training centre and volunteers who want to learn to drive a power boat, sail a dinghy or larger sailing boat will be given training and support.

There is no set commitment but volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Please arrive by 9.15am to help with preparation. We normally finish at lunch time. We supply buoyancy aids, but ask you to bring a water-proof and a change of clothes.

There are many other supporting roles ashore for volunteers, particularly when we are maintaining our boats during the winter.

You are welcome to come and see us at Noss on Dart Marina, any Tuesday or Saturday morning to see how you might like it.
Should you decide to join there is a nominal £5.00 annual fee for all members which covers insurance and a membership card. All courses, certificates and associated books are provided free of charge.

You will be asked to complete a registration form (please see link below). To ensure the safety of our sailors a DBS (Disclosure and Barring) check is carried out on all volunteers. Clickto email our Volunteer Secretary Dolly Marsden.
