A good time was had by all at Horizons Restaurant, South Devon College which hosted our annual dinner and AGM. The dining room was full to capacity and we all enjoyed a really fabulous three course dinner. A huge thank you is due to al the catering students and staff for making us so welcome. A raffle raised £243 and many thanks to everybody who donated prizes. We were joined by supporters Ben and Jackie Morris from Dolphin Boatyard where our sailing base is located and to representatives of The Laywell Matthey Trust in Brixham which recently gave us a £10,000 grant towards the ARC engines. Thanks to Social Secretary Carrie for organising such a great evening. The dinner was preceded by our AGM when we welcomed new trustees Nik Laine, Richard Tonks and Chris Wood. Principal Ian Wakeling is appealing for volunteers to take up important new roles when the present incumbents leave so if you are interested please let him know. We are looking for a Chief Sailing Instructor when Anna retires after years of amazing service, a new membership secretary to replace Gill, a safety officer to take over from David, and a powerboat instructor to replace Graham. We are also appealing for an events co-ordinator and most importantly, a social media guru! If you can help, please let us know. Many thanks to everybody who made the AGM and dinner such enjoyable occasions.
