October brings glorious end to the season

Its been a variable year with some wonderful sailing, a few days of too much wind, and a few with almost no wind, but the weather gods gave us a great end to the sailing season with a fun sizzle at the clubhouse on our penultimate session and super sailing on the last day. Hard to believe it was October.
The penultimate session had almost no wind. Most enjoyed a river cruise but Robert and Fiona were determined to use what little wind there was to have a sail. Somehow, in the vastness of our sailing area, they manged to get alongside each other for some social banter before deciding it was time to get towed back for a sausage.
And the catering team did not disappoint! Many thanks to Carrie and her team of helpers. There was a large gathering and plenty of hot dogs and cakes for all, with David ensuring the sausages were properly cooked. And Paul provided a most memorable sight helping to return chairs to the clubhouse from the foreshore!
We were back again four days later for our final session which proved early October can offer glorious gentle conditions for a wonderful sail to end the season with all keelboats and a couple of Hansas plus ARC on the water.
Thanks to EVERYONE who has made 2026 a wonderful sailing season.
And now our attention turns to the winter maintenance and social activities. The terrific maintenance team have already been working hard to recover the boats from the trot moorings in the creek up to the Piggery for cleaning and servicing. Meanwhile Carrie is busy planning our winter socials.
