£10,000 from Laywell Matthey Trust

We are delighted to announce that the Laywell Matthey Trust based in Brixham has donated an amazing £10,000 towards two new engines for the ARC. The charity was formed in 2021 following the closure of Laywell House which cared for elderly and disabled people in Brixham. The property called Laywell House was donated as a care home by Mrs Irene Matthey in 1958 and was home from home for Brixham's elderly and disabled for 63 years. Sadly the Georgian building which stands in beautiful grounds was deemed unsuitable for that continued use and was sold in 2021 with proceeds going to the newly formed Laywell Matthey Trust. We are truly grateful for this incredibly generous donation from the new charity and we can all look forward to enjoying years of great outings on the ARC safe in the knowledge that we can rely on the new engines. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Tonto Marine which is supplying the engines for all its help, advice and guidance.
