Our Landing Craft, Farries Flyer, aka “The ARC” sailed from Galmpton to Torquay via Brixham on Wednesday 4th June in preparation for an event at the harbourside at Beacon Quay on Saturday. The event is promoting all water-based activities and we will be sharing a stand with the Disabled Sailing Association, who we also met in Brixham on the way to Torquay. Our joint aim will be to promote the boating opportunities available within the Torbay area for people with disabilities. Wet Wheels will also be involved. ARC will be open for visitors.
Over the next two weeks we will be offering trips in Torbay for members and prospective members. Advance bookings are required for these trips – details have been emailed to members. The ARC will be based in Torquay until the 11th June, and then in Brixham before returning to Galmpton around 18th June.
For further details please contact Bob Miller.
Thanks to the intrepid crew who took the ARC on her long voyage. The trip was originally planned for Friday, but the weather forecast is not looking great for the end of the week, so the plan was brought forward to ensure boat and crew arrived safely. She is now moored at Torquay Harbour Beacon Quay.
