October 12th 2024 - huge fundraiser

Save the date please! We are delighted to announce that Nici Strevens is organising a huge national fundraiser for Dart Sailability on October 12th. The event called Stride for Sailability is a sponsored walk, hike or run with a choice of routes (five kms which is suitable for wheelchair users, ten kms, 15kms or a combined route of 25kms. Nici is an experienced long distance runner - here she is at the London Marathon in 2019. The event is being handled by specialist organisation XNRG and it is now live on the Ultra Britain website at Ultrabritain.com where the entry form is also available. We will need some volunteers to help with marshalling etc. so if you can help then please let us know - this promises to be a hugely successful event so don the trainers or walking boots, polish up your wheelchair and find some sponsors! There's no pressure and this will be very much a family day out so please support this great cause. We are hoping to raise a year's operating costs so please support us, however you can!

The routes which all start at The Flavel Centre in Dartmouth comprise:

5 km mobility route suitable for wheelchair users

10km route with 370 metres of ascent (via Warfleet, Dartmouth Castle, Sugar Cove, Weeke Hill, The Ridges, Dartmouth)

15km route with 660 metres of ascent (via College Way, Old Mill Creek, Lords Wood, Dittisham, Downton Wood, College Way)

25km combined route of the two routes above
