Shooting the Breeze

Huge thanks to Andrew Pinder who gave a fascinating talk on Friday, giving us a snapshot of his exciting career as an offshore documentary film-maker and a unique insight into the workings of the offshore wind industry. Andrew shared clips and secrets of the trade, taking us from The Eden Project to the Monaco Superyacht Show, spy ships, numerous construction projects, Wind Farms and finally the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain at the Barbican, London! There was incredible footage of impressive feats of engineering taken during his time with Europe's leading offshore media company.

Andrew brought along his favourite camera for the audience to play with, along with VR headsets to experience a visit to a working wind farm. A head for heights was useful at the top of the turbine!

Many thanks to all those who attended, special thanks for all the lovely cakes donated and for all the help with setting up and clearing away. A good time was had by all.
