Keith White's Galmpton fundraiser

A big thank you to Keith!

On the evening of 26th March Dart Sailability members and guests enjoyed a fund raising talk given by Keith White in the Galmpton village hall. Keith who lost the use of his left hand in a motorway accident took up solo yachting in a bid to challenge himself and also raise funds for various charities.

Keith gave a very enjoyable and inspiring account of his exploits including 2 solo transatlantic circuits and 2 UK and Ireland circumnavigations, which are detailed on his website singlehandedyachting.com

Those who attended the talk were impressed by Keith's quiet unassuming manner in which he described his trials and tribulations including storm force winds, gear failure, intentionally being rammed by a fishing boat, high speed pursuit by the authorities whilst supplying "Radio Caroline". He is a true inspiration not just to the disabled but all of us!

During his 2017 solo clockwise UK and Ireland circumnavigation he raised £850 for Dart Sailability and the Galmpton event raised an additional £380 so all at Dart Sailability are greatly appreciative of his efforts and look forward to following his future adventures.
